Why Acting Sub-Lieutenant, and Where are the Midshipmen & Ensigns (Merged thread)

I would say a better example of addressing an Acting Subbie as Sub Lieutenant is the equivalent to the case of POs. There are different real ranks with different insignia and pay rates, which, in verbal practice, go by the same name. If an Acting Sub Lieutenant introduced him or herself as "Sub...

Man runs over anti-war protesters with his car

While I do not agree with their cause, or their method of protest, these people did not deserve to be run over. The idea that they suffered a severe, potentially life-threatening assault for their political beliefs, however misguided, is not the kind of action that I would defend.

    Hobbies

I'm into music as a hobby. I play trombone in a community band, and am looking to buy a nice, cheap guitar too. I'm also into camping, canoeing, and sailing. I would love to get into both kite-surfing and diving when I get the time.

    Student punished for spaghetti beliefs

So...will the Pastafarian Padres have to wear a Navy DEU? I'm eager to see what the cap badge will look like.

CF "seducing and preying" upon Canadian Youth - News Clip

I don't think we can definitively say that this theory is wrong, perhaps we have all been brainwashed and don't know it. Take my story for example. I joined Navy League Cadets at age 10, went on to Sea Cadets, and now I'm in the forces. This phenomenon is not limited to...

Canadian soldiers arrested after drunken brawl

As far as I can tell, this hasn't been picked up by any Canadian media. Perhaps we can do our part to help this non-issue fade into history by letting this thread fade into the background of army.ca.

Canada’s clunker subs should be sold as scrap

Here's the interactive Australian Navy Lifestyle site: http://navylifestyle.defencejobs.gov.au/?banner=exploreNavyLifeStyle&pageid=3 I think it is a pretty nifty recruiting tool.

What is the story behind your avatar?

Well, the whole reason I joined the forces was because of the cool hat... so when I saw Stewie have a sexy party while wearing the same hat, I figured it would be just perfect.

    MARS Officer

I made it as well... only took two tries. :D Now the reason for my post: What are the different D-level courses available? And what does the "D" stand for? Edit: Never mind, found my the answers in the other MARS Officer thread. The options are FNO/SAC/AAWD/ASWD, and the D stands for Director...

    LEAVE during MARS Training ?

I attended MARS II last summer (2005), so thoughts of graduation were still a long way off. I fully understand that training would have priority over something like this, especially when the ceremony is in Ontario (i.e. a long way from VENTURE) on a Wednesday (June 13th). Thanks
