I would say a better example of addressing an Acting Subbie as Sub Lieutenant is the equivalent to the case of POs. There are different real ranks with different insignia and pay rates, which, in verbal practice, go by the same name.

While I do not agree with their cause, or their method of protest, these people did not deserve to be run over. The idea that they suffered a severe, potentially life-threatening assault for their political beliefs, however misguided, is not the kind of action that I would defend.

Edit: Never mind, found my the answers in the other MARS Officer thread. The options are FNO/SAC/AAWD/ASWD, and the D stands for Director...
I attended MARS II last summer (2005), so thoughts of graduation were still a long way off. I fully understand that training would have priority over something like this, especially when the ceremony is in Ontario (i.e. a long way from VENTURE) on a Wednesday (June 13th).
