I think it would be ridiculous if you had to see out your full 10-year contract before trying to re-muster.
It's bad news for me if you have to have passed aircrew selection before being able to re-muster, but perhaps I can get sent there again this year once I complete my PPL...
I think I...
Thanks for the replies everyone,
I assure you I've considered the problems with what I'm doing and decided that this is the best course of action.
I decided, after doing a tour of CFB Shearwater with a current ACSO, that I would be happy in that trade. However, I would rather be a pilot, and...
Thanks for the info.
Your situation does seem to apply in fact. I just accepted my offer for ACSO today and want to do a remuster before I start my occupation training.
It sounds like it's unlikely to succeed as pilot is not a high priority trade, but I assume I'm at least allowed to try.
Hi everyone,
I have a question that I was hoping someone would answer. The CFRC has given me mixed responses...
I applied for ROTP pilot, went to air crew selection, and failed. I have now accepted an offer for ACSO, but I would love to take another stab at the flight simulator. I'm...
Sooo... it's been 4 months or so. About time for an update.
I ended up coming back to Canada for second (this) semester, and put an application in in person to CFRC Halifax on January 3rd. I did my medical, interview and CFAT (57/60! yea, they told me...) before the end of the month, and was...
Remember though, that just running that distance in that time in a straight line is quite a bit easier. In the shuttle run you have to stop and change directions every 20 metres, so maybe aim 2 levels higher if you're running in a straight line.
My advice would be: GO CLIMB A ROCK!
This is by far the easiest, fastest and most fun way to build grip strength (along with uper body, balance and leg strength).
I appreciate your responses.
The problem I am having is that I have done a few things for which I have been told to expect an answer in 5 days, and if I don't receive an answer, to contact them.
The MAIN problem of my case is that I'm currently in Mexico. When I get back to Canada in...
So, I've been having a few problems with the recruiting centre and was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat. I'm currently in the process of applying from Mexico
- My story starts three weeks ago, when I sent in my application.
- A couple of days after that, I called to ask what I...
I really enjoyed reading this - interesting especially as I'm applying for pilot shortly.
I don't think you said, or maybe I just didn't see - what are you flying now??
Born in Victoria. Admittedly I'm early in the process, but it's already taken an inordinate number of telephone calls.
Out of curiosity, what forms were you able to submit by fax? Are you just bringing your other documents to the appointment?
I'm applying from Mexico, which is complicating matters a lot (bad phone lines and expensive calls, etc.).
I'm in my third year of civvie-U at Dal and am applying as pilot, MARS, and ACS.
Thanks for the info everyone, this is all reasonable and sensible.
It sounds to me like there could be a problem taking any leading role in a protest, as your background is sure to be discovered. So I guess the most a serving member can do is add their voice or be someone in that crowd with a...
