    Cadet Freedom of the City

We didn't exercise freedom of the city in 2002? (at VACSTC)

Barracks space has never stopped them before :p I remember that awesome night last summer where I had 113 male Cadets and 108 beds. Brilliant.

    Cadet Pioneer Course

The course is going away, that parts not a rumour. I'm very curious about the two basic thing, I hope theres some form of announcement soon. 2006/2007 is the last year we're using the current training plan so we should get word shortly.

He's not at RMC.... just to ease the anticipation. I don't want to speak for him though, so I'll leave it there :p

    Affiliated Units and Cadet Training

Every Army Cadet Corps in BC has been given a cash budget to train once with their affiliated unit over the 2006/2007 training year. This training will occur with all affiliated Cadet units and the unit (so ALL BCR Cadet Corps go together, all 6 Field Cadet Corp go together and so on...) I'm not...

Ha ha I just remembered something that made me laugh. One company went all out with the parade positions and had all sorts of inappropriate positions such as: RSM, Adj, and DCO. It was fun to watch, though.

She was the Pde Comd, the CSM was some tall boy. I can't remember his name. She shouldn't have had the sword belt and pace stick, he should have; however it looks cool so I figured I give it too her.

No you weren't..... some tall kid was the CSM. Trust me, I know  :argument:

Sea cadet march pasts/parades--is there any historical basis for their format?

The one that always gets me is the speed at which Cadets march. I'd guess the avergae speed for Army Cadets is around 90 paces per minute here in BC, based mostly I'd guess on the Pipes Bands cadets march with from time to time. Then we had some Air and Sea Cadets come to VACSTC on their way to...

    staff cadet kit

Rumour had it when VACSTC runs out of OD they'll switch over to CADETPAT... but like all long-term plans in Cadets it's best to see what happens.

    staff cadet kit

You also have entitlement to an extra mint green shirt and CF Dress Pants from your LHQ, to be temp loaned. Don't bring any private-funds kit unless it's from your unit, or is trivial such as a bush hat. Boots, jackets, pants are all no-go.

    CadetPat field uniform

Ha ha ha ha... but doesn't it make you laugh? There is nothing anywhere that would imply CADPAT slip ons are authorized, and there are RCI's in some regions that say they are explicitly disallowed, or through implication Cadet's are told not to use them. RSCU (Pac) demands a brassard if I'm...

    CadetPat field uniform

CATO 46-01 Main Document 16. Combat uniforms purchased by cadets are not to be taken to ACSTC, unless otherwise directed in course joining instructions. They may be worn at the cadet corps during exercises or adventure training when authorized by the Cadets Corps CO. An authorized headdress...

Transferring to Army cadets from Sea!

Coming into the army cadet programme is probably a lot easier than leaving it for Sea or Air IHMO. There is a lot to learn, but many Sea Cadets/Air Cadets that come from strong units have actually recieved a signifigant portion of the training as it is. Really it all comes down to your ability...
