So what I get out of this is that it is not for those receiving pain and suffering compensation.
 
I just got paid. Released Nov 2007. It appears that I got my spec pay only. No paperwork has been sent yet, just a direct deposit into my account.

Interesting, would be good to see how they break it down. But if this ends up not paying out PLD, it's going to be a huge disappointment to a lot of people.

Were you in a receipt of PLD on retirement?

Oh see that's what I was wondering if PLD was going to be included in this . It's still an alloance
 
Yes PLD was an "allowance" but it wasn't paid on the day of release. On your release papers it will tell you exactly what allowance you were being paid on THAT day.

Yes, I received a rather high PLD like everyone who lived here. Buuuuut.....PLD is not listed on my release papers like my specialist allowance was. The lawsuit states we are entitled to any allowances we received ON release day. PLD was not paid on our last day.

Hey perhaps maybe today you could have recieved grounds maintence or house maintence payments from vac. I got them my self this morning. Just log into your Medicine Blue Cross account and it will tell you if you were direct deposited on the 6th of the month thus it being sent yet not being posted and showing in your account till this morning

So very true. This could have been avoided by listing off which allowances were included. Even in the lawsuit summary it mentions Simon Logan's receipt of PLD amongst many others. Since day 1, the thrust of most my talks with veterans was..."PLD was an allowance right!?" And it sure was. But (no pay clerk here) I think PLD may have been a "prepay" on day 1 of pay cycle. Meaning, on our last day of work, we had already been paid our PLD for that month. I think that's what's happened.

No. I'm well versed on our pay and benefits. This was 100% the lawsuit payout. It was a LOT.

FYI: I was an MSE guy. My allowances were, clothing, "sea pay", specialist pay and PLD on top of my salary. I released on 2007 and received $42,000 after lawyer, and taxes were taken. That said...I don't know how much taxes were taken but know damn well that it wasn't enough. I'll owe more taxes on this for sure. Also.....since sisip gave me a raise, IRB will now* (edit) reduce my pay by that same amount. So be aware that even though we received our back pay, it's only because IRB has decided to leave it alone, that we are actually getting paid. But...IRB (VA) has stated they will be reducing our IRB by the same amount our SiSIP raise was, moving forward.

Yeah good to point this out, will clear up confusion by some people.

I personally don't expect much, if any at all, because I was only in receipt of PLD on release, since I was attached to a shore office for my ship I had no sea pay.

It's definitely NOT paying PLD. If it did, I'd have received another $100k at the very least
