The Continuing Education Officer Training Plan is a program that has been recently revived by the Canadian Forces in order to meet aggressive recruitment goals set by the Canadian Government.

The program is activated for specific military occupations and is not meant to be a general enrolment program; when projections indicate that the traditional general enrolment programs (ROTP, DEO, etc) will not meet recruitment targets according to the Strategic Intake Plan for a given occupation, CEOTP may be opened by CFRG to achieve the desired numbers.

The program allows enrolling members to avoid the requirement to hold a university degree on enrolment but supports the greater desire for a degreed officer corps by requiring the member to complete a university degree by the end of their initial engagement with the Forces.

The officer candidate proceeds immediately through all initial military occupation training and is assigned an individual learning plan (ILP) by the CDA in order to achieve the educational goals agreed to on enrollment.
The University Training Program for Non-Commissioned Members is a competitive, subsidized education program offered by the Canadian Armed Forces for the Non-Commissioned Member (NCM) without a university degree who aspires to become a commissioned officer in the Regular Force. Selection results in the NCM candidate receiving fully subsidized education at the Royal Military College or an accredited Canadian University in a degree program which is deemed suitable for member's choice of trade.

QNUPS or Qualifying Non-UK Pension Schemes have recently been launched by the HMRC and provide individuals with a number of benefits most notably substantial tax savings. A QNUPS overseas pension can be taken by anyone who is a UK resident or any UK domiciled individual currently living outside the Britain. You may transfer just about everything with a QNUPS assets transfer.

QNUPS Benefits - Retirement Planning

For extra suggestions on QNUPS Information have a look atExpat Pension. The QNUPS advantages mentioned here are usually applicable. However, due to the technicalities involved in every individual case it is recommended that you check this with your financial consultant.

A QNUPS is exempt from UK IHT on the members death and any contributions made attract tax advantages
There is no need to make any lifetime contributions to this scheme
There is no maximum age limit for making contributions
Invest assets into a jurisdiction with a friendlier tax climate
Investments are not required to be made from earned income
Growth is generally free from CGT (Capital Gains Tax) which means the capital growth of your assets can be passed on in full to your beneficiaries

QNUPS Transfer- Tax Advantages

The UK government launched QNUPS in February 2010, this allowed chosen offshore pension schemes to benefit from UK tax relief. A QNUPS is the answer for every UK expatriate as they will get not only the UK IHT advantages, but all the underlying income and subsequent capital gains will be exempt from UK tax.

A UK expatriate who remains UK-domiciled is subject to UK Inheritance Tax (IHT) on their international estate at a rate of 40 %. The main advantage of QNUPS is that they tax efficient and are also exempt from UK IHT.

QNUPS Can be Located in Many Countries

One of the other QNUPS benefits is that it is not necessary to be located in countries that have signed the Double Taxation Agreement with the UK. This is extremely advantageous as it has two relevant issues. Firstly, since it does not have to be located in a country with a DTA, there are no reporting conditions. This means that a QNUPS does not have to be reported to HMRC. Secondly, QNUPS can be hosted in many different countries and in doing so gives you greater choice on where to invest.

Investing in a QNUPS

Another one of the positives of a QNUPS is that the contributions are unrestricted and can be made from a variety of sources. It is not necessary to liquidate assets when investing in a QNUPS. Antiques, property and even fine vintage wines are accepted.

Having the advantages of being both tax efficient and flexible, a QNUPS is advisable for those wanting to transfer their UK pensions and assets overseas where they can grow and generate gains that will not be lost by way of hefty taxes.

For a much more described analysis on QNUPS pension transfer have a glance at the author bio.

We're a group of What is QNUPS? financial advisers and would love to share our information on QNUPS.
