I was driving into Ottawa this morning around 0715 on Highway  17 west of Ottawa.
No pictures but on 2 normal sized low boy trailers, not the heavy duty trailers. There were 2 M109s in fresh paint and decals. I am guessing some place is about to get a gate keeper. I have seen Leo Tanks being hauled down 17, on the extended lowboy trailers with many  axles trailing. So I was guessing the M109s were gutted and just a shell.  Anyone know who is getting a gate keeper?

Posted here because it was not really  that  important. Not wanting to ruffle any feathers.
opie out

Even when not gutted, the M109 comes in around 24 tons (depending on version) and the Leo II at 62 tons. The big difference is that the M109's armour, like the M113, is a rolled aluminum alloy v steel in the Leo.
