What type of APC is this?

This was the planned replacement for the Ferret, the Vixen. I liked the UK recce setup, small scouts cars, medium and fire support vehicles such as the Saladin AC.

Sure. What was the armoured reconnaissance advantage of a Lynx over a Ferret?

It could go places that even a ferret would fear to tread.

Armament for one. We mounted a GPMG on the Ferret. The Lynx was .50 BMG and GPMG.
The Ferret was almost silent compared to the roar and smoke of a diesel.
The Lynx was all around protection where as the Ferret was open topped.
Ferret was small and easily  hidden.
While it couldn't match tracks cross country, it could still navigate easily as long as you followed the rules. i.e.- Don't go where bullrushes grow.
5 gears forward and the same in reverse gave 60mph in either direction.
