I couldn't make this up - from the Toronto Police Service:

The Toronto Police Service would like to alert the public to four separate distraction thefts, in
the downtown core, since Friday, May 21, 2010.

It is reported that:

− while the victims made cash withdrawals from ATMs or financial institutions, they were squirted with feces,

− the suspects, in most cases, include at least four people, who would clean the victim's clothing and, in the process, steal their cash.

The suspects are described as Hispanic and could be in possession of squeeze bottles or containers of feces....
