In one thread there was a Chinese 8X8 which looked like an ARGO on steroids, carrying an 8 man section, although apparently without any more kit than a day pack.

There is another vehicle called the "Flyer" for its ability to fit inside the cargo hold of transport helicopters and the V-22. Although it seems somewhat larger and heavier than the specifications, it looks like it is able to fulfill the role of airportable transport vehicle. http://www.marvingroup.com/index.php/companies/flyer/products/new_product/

And of course, the BV 206 and its various cousins (Viking, Bronco) are also airportable as well (internally inside a Chinook in the case of a BV 206), and although they are even larger, they can carry two sections with all their gear, or act as a heavy weapons carrier or fulfill a multitude of other tasks. Being marginal terrain vehicles, they can also transport their crew and cargo across terrain which is totally impossible for anything else, and are amphibious to boot.

So there is plenty of off the shelf kit to choose from. The issue here is more a case of not really knowing what you want to do with this thing, or trying to tie in too many different requirements to one piece of kit.

You would high center that argo pretty fast. Probably would break down in 3 km,  :)
