Sunni About Face

Seem's that the Sunni's now want US forces to remain in Iraq and they want more troops in the Sunni triangle. The more practical Sunni leaders must have done a headcount and found they were a minority facing an outraged Shia community intent on revenge. US forces are now seen as protectors.

“The situation is different now,” Mr. Hashemi said. “I don’t want the Americans to say bye-bye. Tomorrow, if they were to leave the country, there would be a security vacuum, and that would lead inevitably to civil war.”

Hows that for a statement? You'd have to ask, "Tell us Mr. Hashemi, why would there be a security vacuum? Would it be because the Sunni's have done a great job in destabilising the country on their quest to get back on top of the Shiites? And the Shiites now want to wipe the carpet with you?"
They shoot at us, bomb us, attack us and suddenly decide that they want us to stay because they realise they're stuffed if the Yanks do leave.
They're getting no sympathy from me...
