Hi everyone,

I have a few questions that myself and a few others are wondering in regards to careers in the Army.

To generalize this, I'll use myself as an example.

I'm 21 years old, and am a graduate of Computer Systems Technician (2 year course).

I'm looking into careers in the Army Reserves.

I realize that Military Police requires applicants to have their 2 year diploma in Police Foundations, but I'm wondering a few things...

Does the army offer any type of subsidized education or college for Police Foundations? (Is it possible to take it at the Military college?)

Now, I'm wondering about Army Communication and Information Systems Specialist.

Does anyone know how much this focuses on Computer Networking or server administration?

Just wondering because my course I took in College might help me if so.

Thanks.

One doesn't require an education to be an MP in the Reserves. There is no subsidized education, but there is a reimbursement program.

Are you sure? The forces.ca site says that MP requires "a community college diploma in Law and Security Administration, Police Foundations, or a similar program from a recognized Canadian community college or CEGEP. "

Read through this thread first: http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/107314.0.html

After that, if questions remain, shoot ResMP a private message. HE's a reserve MP recruiter and I expect will be happy to give you a steer on that.

Just so it is out there - this is my reply :" Because you are from Ontario you come under the umbrella of 2 MP Regt - Each MP Regt has the auth enact an emergency recruiting provision at their discretion which allows them to forego the regular recruiting standard.

I am not sure if 2 MP Regt (Ontario) is using this provision. You will need to contact the MP Pl in your area.

1 MP Regt (Western Canada) is using this provision as we are low experiencing low manpower levels. So move to Western Canada and we will get you signed up!  "
