Watching now; if anyone has Amazon Prime it has now come off of the 'rental' side to part of normal Prime.

Not historically accurate, but if you like Kurosawa westerns, John Wick and WW2 movies it looks like it's worth the watch. Set in scenic Lapland.

Not an Oscar contender, but well done for what it is. Also, those Sami knives are pretty sweet and look like a fun blacksmithing project.

For what it is , it's entertaining, as long as you turn your mind off and don't mind 'plot armor'.

I wouldn't have paid to rent it, but if you already have Amazon Prime would highly recommend!

Kind of bleak though, but seems very Finnish.

Interesting backstory to the movie as well; guess it was a COVID make work project for a Finnish director who put it together as a make work project.

Very little dialogue, beautifully shot. 10/10 would watch again when in mood for some ultraviolence against Nazis.

Figured it would be good when they showed the bad guys shooting at a puppy (they missed) in the first 10 minutes and there was a John Wick connection.

Will actually add a pair of the Laplaand knives to the to do list though; have a home forge setup planned for next year and seems like a fun way to try the leather tooling as well. The single bevel seems like a good practice too.

One of the big upsides of the SAG strike is a big influx of international content to the streaming services. Some great stuff as long as you don't mind the subtitles.

Something other than a brutal Scandi noir serial killer detective mystery is a nice change, but this isn't a happy feel good story for sure.

Do recommend the Norwegian 'Ragnarok' show for a fun one though; that's pretty entertaining and on Netflix.

The Cloggie crime dramas on Netflix are pretty good. A bit tongue in cheek. Ferry and Undercover. Just watch them in the right order.

If you have Roku, check out the Mhz channel; lots of mystery/crime shows from around the world (albeit predominantly European).
