Roto 13

Is anyone here slated to go on roto 13 in bosnia?

I think its 1RCR running the show and their including a "Light Vehicle Patrol Company" compromised entirely of reservists.

Thats going to be interesting to say the least.

What‘s really interesting is that Roto 18 is supposed to be composed entirley of reservists... Our role (the reservist‘s role, that is) is ever-increasing in operations abroad.

Roto 11 has a full Coy of reservists over there right now as part of the 1 PPCLI BG. Patroling around with iltis‘s.

While it‘s true they are talking about Roto 18 being "entirely" reservists, this is a bit of a misnomer because at the end of the day you are going to get Reg Force augmentation for positions that just can‘t be filled, probably at the last minute to boot. Also, certain specialists are also going to be a "must be" Reg Force position.

What is going to be truely interesting to see is if they can get the Snr Leaders out from the Reserves to make it tick, particularly since those with the time and inclination to take a year off of their civilian job are being used up on Rotos 11, 12, 13...

I wonder how it will work with patroling and iltis‘s. Will all the reserve patrols simply be mounted with no section size foot patrols? Or maybe each section will have 2 or 3 jeeps under its command?
I don‘t really see a requirement there for more then a jeep to make a presence patrol anyways. Most of the concerns seem to be from people wanting stuff from CIMIC.
One thing i‘ve heard and hope changes is some of the reserve‘s idea‘s that their going there to kick *** and take names and put people in their place because their hardcore infantry soldiers. That idea will get them in hot water, especially since were rather inexperenced combat wise and they have been fighting each other since the romans were there.
