This is a bayonet from a Ross Rifle, serial number DA 317.  Alas, my rifle's serial number is DA 181.

The DA series rifles came off the HMS Canada, when she was scrapped.

And this is my Ross rifle.

Alas, the bayonet is not the matching bayonet for this rifle....bayonet DA 181 was sold at auction several years ago in Western Canada, and the buyer did not return my phone-calls.

:-(

I'm assuming it was the show at the Waverley Legion.

How was the show this year NS?

Yeah, it was the Waverley show.

Same stuff (mostly) as almost every other show out east here....prices climb every time, but the items on the tables stays the same.

Yeah, I didn't go to either Waverley, or Truro this year.

Last year was sad for both, although I thought Truro was a little better. Did find a few odds and sods I was interested in, but the guys always seemed to think they were made of gold.

Have you fired the Ross? Is it still functional and accurate?

I've been looking to get my hands on a Ross and an No. 4 Enfield Mk. III with matching bayonets for quite some time with no luck. I may just give up or settle for something else.
