Hi , I am currently 18 years old, enlisted as OS in the naval reserve, going to basic training this summer.
I am also a first year university student pursuing a double psychology(sci) and a criminology(art) degree at Toronto.
My goal is to eventually become an officer (hopefully MARS) in the reserves.
After researching and talking with my primary chain of command, I was informed that even if I hadn't attended basic training yet, I would have to fulfill my responsibility as an OS first before making any changes or my other option was voluntary release(...).
I have seen a lot of individuals in this forum claiming that they've transferred to officers from NCMs and just wondering if I can get some tips to plan out a new goal in my life. It's just that, I regret rushing through my application when I could have applied for an officer position if I have waited a month.
Thank you.
