Remington 870 Marine

Anyone know if you can get 28 or 30 inch barrels for the Remington 870 Marine? Or if any of the other Remington 870 barrels will fit with it (although it would look funny with a black barrel obviously... but the ducks won't be bothered by that )

What about after-market? Anyone know a good place to get after-market parts?

A friend of mine converted his 870 Police Magnum to a waterfowl gun with adding a 28" barrel. I'm heading out hunting with him today, I'll ask if he needed any special parts. I'm 90% certain he just bought a 870 field barrel and removed the mag extension.

Excellent, thanks. The reason I ask is that I was reading that parts for the 870 "Express" shot guns are not necessarily interchangeable with other 870s. Not sure what that is all about...

All he did was buy a new barrel, and cap for the 870 since his had a mag extension. The cap isn't quite proper, so every few rounds it needs a little tightening or it may go flying (takes quite a few to loosen off). Has something to do specifically with the factory mag extension though. It was just a normal 870 28" barrel.

Nice. Speaking of making a tactical shot gun into a waterfowl gun, someone put a pistol grip / extendible butt on an 870 Marine and this beauty was the result (this pic truly belongs in the "gun porn" thread as its the most beautiful shot gun I've ever seen)...



All it needs is a 28 or 30 inch barrel and then it is absolute perfection.

I've got a 12.5 in Norc barrel on my Remington 870 receiver, and it fit no probs, but I've heard people having trouble the other way around (Rem barrel on Norc receiver).
