Now that it comes out that we are returning them to their homes, it sounds like a better idea. But I don‘t see what it will change. Given the US government‘s predilection to only doing things halfway ie Iraq, temporarily moving those people out of harm‘s way is just that - temporary. I think we should commit to doing more than that - and housing them all here isn‘t the answer at all.

Otherwise - what kind of "stable" homeland will they have to return to? About as stable as the one left for the Kurds after the Gulf War.

And the newspaper had a good point today about use of the word Genocide. Hitler practiced Genocide against 10-12 million people during the Holocaust not just Jews, by the way. If that is what is going on in Kosovo, why are there 1 million refugees?

A more important question to ask, is when are we going to have a national discussion about our role in this thing? We debated WWII in Parliament until the 10th of September, and that was a pretty obvious choice to make. I don‘t think another war is something we want to step into lightly.
