Can't be 100%, but I'm pretty sure I had them on my Greens in the early 70's.

So I'm going to guess, at the inception of the Greens?

Although I believe they were also worn, on the epaulettes, in WW I.

Thanks for the reply, I should have been a little more informative on what I was looking for.

I was looking for when they were introduced/worn on the khaki uniform (during the Boer War 1899-1902 already or in WW1)?
