In case anyone is interested, according to the most recent statistics from the US Census, there are 18,204,605 veterans in the U.S.

There is alot more veterans then some people think. I always hear only 1% of the population is willing to serve but that is very untrue. We all serve in the military at different times of our lives but I find quite alot of people have served one time or another in the canadian armed forces

"As of March 31, 2018, VAC estimated the total Veteran population in Canada to be 649,300, consisting of 48,300 War Service (WS) Veterans and 601,000 Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Veterans."

https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/about-vac/news-media/facts-figures/1-0. If you look at the column where it talks about Male demographics it shows around 18% by the time their in their 50 to 60 have served time in the military.

If comparing U S - Canada statistics, it may be worth mentioning the US had the Draft until 1973.  The OP was a U S video.

Canada's hasn't drafted anyone since 1944 - 45.

Not comparing just mentioning whether US or Canada there is alot more % of veterans in our population then some people seem to believe

No, it does not say that.  The 18% figure in that particular chart refers to the percentage of male veterans receiving services from VAC who are in that age range.  It has nothing to do with the demographics of the general population.

Interesting to see in table 4.1 the number of RCMP disability recipients grows by about 1000 per year to reach 15,000 and beyond, and CAF bounces around 110,000 +\- 2000.

Proportionately, the RCMP are incurring very large numbers of injured officers. Tells you something about their job ...

Seeing how the RCMP are always on what we would consider in the CF ‘on deployment’ as their daily jobs, I’m not at all surprised. I’m sure if every CF member woke up everyday and was in a deployed environment situation our injured numbers would go up significantly. We have it easy by comparison.

I can see I read the chart wrong but I still maintain that we have more then 1% of the population that have served in the military and if you look at male population(which is where most veterans come from) it is even higher still.

And when you add those who 'think' they have served, then we're talking some real numbers...

Would that be the mob whose regimental march is "Walting Matilda"?
