Looks like the Brits are retiring their Woodland DPM in favour of a Multicam derivative called "Multi-Terrain Pattern" co-developed by Crye Precision and the UK's Ministry of Defence.

More can be found at:  http://soldiersystems.net/2009/12/18/crye-developed-new-camo-pattern-for-brits/

From the link:

...so they wanted us to develop a pattern for them that performed like MultiCam® but had a distinctly British identity. UK-MTP is the result.”

Is it just me, or is there a bit of unintentional irony in that statement/requirement ?

That pattern has been in use in Afghanistan for over a year. Not in general use, but by "other" Brit forces.

UKSFG has been using Crye's Multicam pattern in theatre for some time, however the 'UK-MTP' camouflage pattern is an entirely new pattern (although it is closely related to Multicam) developed for for general forces usage.

I guess British DPM had to be retired sooner or later...it's had a good run though!
