I think you both touched on this, but I‘ll bring it up again anyway. When are we going to have debate in Parliament about what we are doing over there? Brad is right - lets set out some goals for our Forces first or have them set out for us, even - but lets just have them. Only once we know what we‘re trying to do can we set about doing it in a reasonable way.

I also agree with you, Rob. In 1939, our Army was pitiful - and if King would have had his way, we would not have sent ground forces to fight in WWII at all. Our Army was equally pathetic in 1914. It‘s almost too bad we did such a good job in WWI and WWII - now politicians seem to think that its okay to let the Forces flounder away in peacetime, knowing or thinking that Canada can just throw together an army from guys off the street.
