Does anyone have the font for NATO map symbols? My searching skills is not the greatest tonight. Any help before my head explodes.  :panic:

Regards,
TN2IC

There's a specific font? I have B-GL-331-003/FP-001 Military Symbols for Land Operations here in front of me and I can't find any specific font indication.

I just went to the Army Electronic Library to look for more information but got this:

Home

"This site is temporarily deactivated for content review and layout reconstruction."

Brick wall...

Might be an outdated set, but it's all I can find on this system.

On this note, and since the AEL is down, does anyone know who to contact WRT ordering hardcopies of PAMS?

Base Pubs Library or unit pubs library if you have one.  It is unlikely the AEL will ever be available on the internet again.

Dangerboy,
Thank you for that link. I was given http://armyapp.dnd.ca/ael/3col-eng.html which is not avail

fraserdw,
I got ahold of the base pubs lady and she has helped me. Thank you for that.

Stumbled across a bunch of map symbols that 1 Bde apparently used at MR four years ago.  Each unit had a unique colour scheme for quicker identification.  If anyone is interested in using such things:

... and since 2 Bde is (maybe still?) about to go into the MR box:

I know it's an old thread, but...

The old standard was APP-6A.  The new standard is MIL-STD-2525D (https://www.jcs.mil/Portals/36/Documents/Doctrine/Other_Pubs/ms_2525d.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiD54C-9JroAhUmknIEHdIOAjYQFjAAegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw3RMdvardJv6yMt81S5hQ2s)

Here is a set if TrueType fonts: http://www.mapsymbs.com

To be pedantic, APP-6D is the new NATO standard.
MIL-STD-2525D is the current US standard.
Generally, the two standards are the same ... to include a whole lot of US specific content in the NATO standard and a dirth of anything specific to any other NATO member.

Yes.  I see that now too.

Anyway, this site's wiki has been a little difficult for me over the last few months so I've loaded my library to the parent (which leaves the files still accessible to the local wiki).  If you need a map symbol, it might be here:
