A site I use for some of my clases has these old favorities:

The Princess Pat

Princess Pat

Light Infantry,

They sailed across

The seven seas

They sailed across

The channel too

And took with them

A rick-a-bamboo!

A rick-a-bamboo

Now what is that?

It's something made

For the Princess Pat

It's red and gold

And purple too

That's why it's called

A rick-a-bamboo!

Now Captain Jack (salute)

Had a mighty fine crew

They sailed across

The channel too.

But their ship sank

And yours will too

Unless you take

A rick-a-bamboo!

A rick-a-bamboo

Now what is that?

It's something made

For the Princess Pat

It's red and gold

And purple too

That's why it's called (everyone together)

A rick-a-bamboo!

The song is about the P.P.C.L.I (Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry) Instead of "seven seas" there is also a version with "Bering Sea"

Rags

Joining the Navy

(Tune:the Generic Army Marching Cadence)

GI-Joe and GI-gravy,

Gee, I wish I joined the navy.

I don't know but I've heard rumors....

________ (name someone in the group) up there wears purple bloomers!

Momma, Momma can't you see?

What the navy's done to me,

Took away my high-heeled shoes,

Now I'm wearing combat boots!

Daddy, Daddy can't you see?

What the navy's done to me,

Took away my designer jeans,

Now I'm wearing dungarees!

Brother, Brother can't you see?

What the navy's done to me,

Took away my girlfriend Jan,

Now I'm dating Uncle Sam!

Junior Birdmen

[Tune: On Brave Old Army Team]

Up in the air, Junior Birdmen; up in the air, upside down,

Up in the air, Junior Birdmen; with your noses to the ground.

And when you hear the grand announcement: that your wings are made of tin.

Well, then you know, Junior Birdmen, it's time to send your box tops in.

For it takes: 5 box tops, 4 bottle bottoms, 3 coupons, 2

wrappers, and one thin dime!
