Paschendale - Iron Maiden           (MOST AMAZING SONG.. EVER...!)
Aces High - Iron Maiden
Die With Your Boots On - Iron Maiden
The Trooper - Iron Maiden
Tailgunner - Iron Maiden

....... I swear, I'm not a huge Maiden fan...   ::)

Cheerio,
Lex

I completely agree!

here's a couple more
I blast these on the way to work
Heros- Motorthead
remember the fallen - Sodom

Can't believe no one has mentioned:

Everlast - Letters Home from the Garden of Stone (best military themed song I've heard)
Manowar - Almost any one of their songs (if you're into metal at all, give this band a listen.. Call to Arms and Die With Honor are my favorites)

Soldier's things - by Tom Waits. You may remember this from the end scene of the film Jarhead.

Dropkick Murphy's - The Last Letter Home

Alternatively, where I work the theme tune to Monty Python's Flying Circus would be appropriate.

SSGT Barry Sadler:

This Letter is postmarked Vietnam
Watching the Rain Drops Fall
SaigonBallad of The Green Berets
Garrett Trooper
Airborne Trooper Lament
Nurses of Vietnam

Got em all in MP3.  Great Soldier songs regardless of the era.  Garrett Trooper is the best because I see those types every day!

"He got a hip knife
A boot Knife
And  little bity one
That's a genuine flare gun combination Polll-ice whistle
Yup, he's a trooper"

If you ever spent a long time away from family in military "Watchin the Raindrops fall" will tear you up!

No one thought of the old marching songs?

Bang on Lulu?
3 German Soldiers?
The River Kwai...

Political Correctness, and good taste has caused them to fade away

"O'er the hills and faraway", a late 17th century marching song and 1990's TV series
http://youtu.be/xIIqYqtR1lY
"Suicide is painless", 2nd Best Movie theme of 1970
http://youtu.be/zCjWQHpu3bY
"Burning bridges", Best Movie theme of 1970

WrenchBender

Eurowing I remember the words to all of them....... I am not a member of the PC Brigade  >:D

Anything by Sabaton is great, about 95% of their stuff is about battles and wars.

Examples; Counterstrike (6 day war)
Back in Control (Falklands)
Uprising (Warsaw Ghetto Uprising)
Light in The Black (generally rocks, seems non-specific, but could be normandy campaign)

I could go on and on.

Corb Lund's Student Visas, I wanna Be In The Cavalry (both versions) and Horse Soldier are all great too.

Prefer this one myself, each to their own though.  http://www.rorkesdriftvc.com/myths/menofharlech.mp3
