FYI, just spotted this blog by someone saying he's a police officer - here's a taste:
.... I have never experienced looting of this scale, the wholesale sacking of shops is taking place, we know it is taking place and there is nothing we can do about it, a couple of the more hardcore members of my team want to “blat round and stop it”, we’re outnumbered, we’re encumbered by protective equipment and we’re drained. If we go blundering into this kind of situation we’ll do more harm than good. And that’s when it happens, my moment of terror “MAN DOWN”, two words I never want to hear, we run to form a cordon round the fallen officer, shields up in all directions, everyone alert and scanning for a threat. I can’t see anything but I can feel the impact of stones against my helmet, I can see some glass breaking around us, thankfully the downed officer isn’t baldy hurt and is able to regain his footing, we’re up and we’re mobile, one of my worst fears averted.

The traditional, stereotypical, image of a public order police officer is that of some knuckle dragging man mountain who’s main skill in life is being able to knock a door down in one hit. As I survey the people around me, none of them fit that. They’re all reasonably intelligent, in the van there have been long discussions on what the cause of this is. We can understand the anger of the community over the shooting of Mark Duggan by armed police, we know that they want answers. But we also know that at times the investigative process is painfully slow, waiting for forensics to come back can take a while, the laborious process of locating witness and then taking statements, tracking down CCTV and seizing copies of it, then reviewing it. All of these things are hard enough for us, let alone the IPCC, and I have very little idea of the size of their investigative teams, but I can’t imagine they are that large ....

We all know it was a racist plot by racist white cops to embarass the minorities.
Never mind that the folks they were trying to arrest are known gangsters...oh sorry they were "family men" right?

Only white males can be racist....right?

By "family" you mean these guys right?  8)

Forced to strip naked in the street: Shocking scenes as rioters steal clothes and rifle through bags as people make their way home
This is the shocking moment a young man is apparently forced to hand over all of his clothes after appearing to be stripped naked during lawless riots overnight.

Internet rumours last night claimed that on top of the widespread destruction across London and Birmingham, people were having their clothes removed by looters as police attempted to contain the criminality.

Reports on Twitter claimed some people were being stripped, while another shocking video shows a bleeding teenager being robbed in broad daylight by lawless thugs who pretend to help him to his feet.

On Twitter, numerous posters claimed there had been incidents of people being stripped naked in Birmingham, although the reports are unsubstantiated...

Left-wing cynics blame the Tory cuts for orgy of violence: MPs and activists line up to make excuses for thugs
Left-wing politicians have cynically sought to make political capital out of the riots, blaming government cuts for the orgy of violence.

Labour MPs and activists lined up to make excuses for the thugs, spouting claims that disadvantaged youth had no option but to smash up high streets.

Chris Williamson, Labour MP for Derby North, suggested the Government’s austerity drive was to blame.

On Twitter, he said: ‘The Tories are back alright. Why is it the Tories never take responsibility for the consequences of their party’s disastrous policies. #tottenham’

Minutes earlier he had endorsed the comment of another Twitter user who said: ‘Riots. Protests. Cuts. Unemployment. Disaffected Youth. Strikes. Recession. Police Brutality.’

Swift to jump on the bandwagon was Lee Jasper, a former adviser on policing to Ken Livingstone when he was Mayor of London.

He blamed the ‘economic violence’ of the government for the riots and expressed no sympathy for businesses that were smashed up...

The police and various governments must be struggling to resist the urge to deploy snipers and sharpshooters with the orders "shoot to kill".

I hope the Government takes all necessary steps to bring those responsible for this mayhem to justice.

This so far, from the UK's Independent Police Complaints Commission:
.... At this stage, it has been established that at approximately 6.15pm on Thursday 4 August 2011, officers from the Metropolitan Police Service’s Operation Trident and SCD 11 accompanied by officers from the Met’s Specialist Firearms Command (CO19), stopped a silver Toyota Estima people carrier minicab in Ferry Lane, close to Tottenham Hale tube station in Tottenham to carry out an arrest.

Mark Duggan was a passenger in the minicab. What happened next is subject to the independent investigation.

Two shots were fired by one CO19 firearms officer.

Paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended along with medics from the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) but Mr Duggan was pronounced dead at scene at 6.41pm.

A non-police issue handgun was recovered from the scene.

A post mortem examination concluded that Mr Duggan was killed by a single gun shot wound to the chest. He also received a second gunshot wound to his right bicep.

The IPCC commissioned tests by the Forensic Science Service (FSS) who have so far confirmed that:

• The bullet lodged in the MPS radio is a “jacketed round”. This is a police issue bullet and, whilst it is still subject to DNA analysis, it is consistent with having been fired from an MPS Heckler and Koch MP5.

• The firearm found at the scene was a converted BBM ‘Bruni’ self loading pistol. This is not a replica; the scientist considers it to be a firearm for the purposes of the Firearms Act and a prohibited weapon and is therefore illegal.

• The handgun was found to have a “bulleted cartridge” in the magazine, which is being subject to further tests.

At this stage there is no evidence that the handgun found at the scene was fired during the incident. The FSS has told the IPCC that it may not be possible to say for certain whether the handgun was fired, however further tests are being carried out in an attempt to establish this ....

No doubt they will promise to, but they promised the same thing recently here in Canada:

not a riot, an insurrection.

Maybe.  A no consequences generation is entitled to their entitlements.

Carrying on from that.....
.... Many of these mindless thugs involved in the riots don’t think more than 10 minutes into the future. They think that stealing trainers is ‘fun’, not even considering that it might be wrong. Many of them are, quite literally, unable to read and write: 17 percent of 15-year-olds are functionally illiterate. If you de-educate an entire generation, if you constantly make excuses for their behaviour, if you never teach them the difference between right and wrong, then chaos is what you reap. These young people are just implementing what they’ve learnt at school! .... Even the sensible people (and there have been a few) refuse to denounce ALL of the violence. Brixton, Croydon, Birmingham are bad, but Tottenham somehow was ‘understandable’. Come again? You mean sometimes looting and violence are acceptable? Apparently, the Tottenham riots are understandable because the police shot Mark Duggan (father of four, according to the Guardian). Do we really think that the police went out and killed a random innocent man? .... What does the Socialist Workers Party say? “These riots are a bitter reaction to racist policing and a Tory Government destroying people’s lives.” It beggars belief. Our reaction to these riots is the greatest worry. What will defeat us is not the rioters. Scary as they are, they are a minority of yobs. What will defeat us is the power of bad ideas. Given our refusal to change, the worst is yet to come.

This Duggan fellow....father of four it states.

Knowing some of the criminal element and their reproductive natures......how many of these four kids were from different women?

Oh sorry that should not be "women" but "babymomma" :rage:

Agreed.

There is a huge difference between being a father or being ordered by law to pay child support.

Or a  I say, any fool can father a child, but it takes a real man to be a Dad.

London rioters: 'Showing the rich we do what we want [VIDEO]

Just about vomited in my mouth. This kind of attitude in modern society is unacceptable and needs to be stomped. These businesses have been hit by the recession as well. These people are nothing more than self entitled, nasty, pathetic, useless, degenerates. I sincerely hope the army is sent in before the riots spreads further.

If there is one thing I hate its blaming something vague like "the rich" or "those fat cats in Washington".

It grates on me like talking about the weather. Its like we can all get together under the umbrella no matter our beliefs and like sunshine, baby animals and dislike of nazis and the rich.

Its  nothing but terrorism. Lets call a spade a spade and not some politically correct BS.

They are terrorists. Period.  People are afraid to go out because these thugs have terrorized the country. :rage:

I have some suggestions for the Brits, but I cannot say on here what they are.....let your imagination do the walking....

"Form hollow square"
"Front rank, kneel"
"Front rank, FIRE!...Reload"
"Rear rank, FIRE!...Reload"

Repeat until order restored.
