I was talking with a friend of mine the other day about the kill/injury radius of a C13 frag grenade.

I remember on my SQ course, they said that the kill radius was 50 meters and my friend was saying it was a lot less, but he couldn't remember how much.

I was looking on DND and it says it's 15 meters lethal/casualty.

Can anyone clarify this?

I know it's more than 15 meters.  I can spit half that (well..not really)

15 METERS is a lot.. That's 50 feet.. Are you sure that they weren't talking feet on your course?

It was awhile ago....perhaps.

But even so.  50 feet is not all that much.

I trained on the C-13 just this summer. It has a lethal range of 19m but some fragmentation has been proven to go up to 300m!

50 feet is quite a bit, that's a lot of area, and that could amount to a lot of troops.. What do you expect from a fist size lump of explosive? This isn't octanitrocubane or HMX you know.

M67/C13 Grenade Fragmentation High Explosive

Lethal Radius = 18m

Danger Radius = 300m

That's verifiiable info.  I worked at the infantry school in gagetown.  And its right out of the PAM

LFCA ICS Pam (Individual Combat Skills Pam)

I think LFCA stopped issuing this Pam back in '96-'97
