Does anyone have experience in the Intelligence Reserve? Specifically 2 Intelligence Company in Toronto. I'm just wondering what kind of training they do on parade nights? Do they do any infantry-type training or weapons handling? Sorry if those aren't the correct terms, I'm just applying to the Infantry Reserve.

All members of the Army Reserve are required to maintain a basic set of soldier skills, referred to as the Individual Battle Task Standards, or IBTS.  The skill level required for certain elements depends on the military occupation.

Thus, an Intelligence Operator will do annual qualification shoots with the C-7 rifle, and maintain other basic soldier skills.  An Infantryman will do similar training, but to different levels.

As noted above, all CF members must complete their IBTS qualifications.  However, once those requirements are met, Intelligence reservists then focus on their own tradecraft (as would any specific trade.)

This includes Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield and the development of products for the Operational Planning Process, development of adversary Courses of Action, preparing and delivering written Intelligence Summaries and Reports (INTSUMs and INTREPs).  They prepare and deliver briefings to the CO or his designate as directed.  Of course, the real work comes in when they have to collect, organize and analyse information necessary to get the content for those reports and briefs...
