Infantry & Signals Ceremonial Sword (1897 pattern)

Purchased through Crown assets disposal on the west coast British columbia.  minimal scratches and normal wear, These were property of the Canadian military I am not aware of the history beyond that.


Blade:

 
Forged stainless steel blade, hardened to approx. 48-52° HRC Rockwell, well-tempered and hand-polished.
Dimensions: 825 mm x 6 x 25 mm.
Guard: Pierced steel guard with royal cipher, hand-polished and nickel-plated with nickel-plated brass cap.
Hopkinson, hall mark
no regimental engraveings
nice acid etching


Grip:

Covered with genuine shark skin .

 
Scabbard:

Nickel-plated and hand-polished steel tube with 2 attachment rings.
