In the linked photo, the RCN SLt is wearing an insignia above the rank on his uniform slip-on. Is anyone able to provide information on what the insignia represents? The crest on his left arm is that of the HMCS Harry DeWolf.

Thanks in advance for any input,

What

That's the mark of the "Bull Sub". A colloquial title for the most senior sub-lieutenant.

Thanks ModlrMike! First time I've seen this. Do you know if the insignia is embroidered on the fabric, or is it a metal pin? Cheers,

Walt

It's embroidered on to the slip on. It's not to be worn off the ship.
