hAS ANYONE TRIED THIS NEW GAME? YOUR IMPRESSIONS... :cdn:

Never played it but would like to get my hands on a single player demo if there were one available. I played the Operation Flashpoint Demo with the skirmish mission. Amazing, best weapon effects Ive seen, en and fr cam actually work, pretty cool weapon sights, and long engagement distances. Was deciding on which of the two I would go out any buy and heard that Ghost Recon was pretty limited, although it looks cool. Ive decided to get Operation Flashpoint once I get a few bucks. Highly recommend it

Op Flashpoint is good, tho (as always) linear. I haven‘t had the chance to play it online yet, tho, so I can‘t comment on that. One nice thing about OFP is that the damage is more "realistic". If you get shot in the foot you don‘t die, (well, assuming it‘s normal rounds) you just can‘t walk. Compared to other games I‘ve played, (like Rogue Spear) this is quite good.

Anyway, I‘ve never shot a real gun, so I wouldn‘t know how realistic the firing is in OFP, but it‘s a really good game.

As for Ghost Recon, it seems more like the R6 kind of game, directed at "action" gamers. That‘s just after seeing ads, so I might be wrong.

Ghost recon sucks, not as good as Rogue Spear by far. Huge, boring maps, ldifficult interface and commands. Just all round an inferior game. Thre is a dmeo available online, somewhere - I had it for awhile before getting the game off a friend.

Flashpoint is good, very realistic, but very linear and rigid. Not a lot of AI, and the missions are to set - good for awhile, but doesn‘t have the benefit of being able to play over and over again. I played it for awhile and then got bored. Problems with command and control as well, and my game (legally purchased) has problems with stalling and crashing.

Rogue Spear and Urban Ops are still the best shpooters for my money. (especially with the NATO and BSW mods)

Another great demo I tried was Swat 3. Has to be the most hardest game I have ever played that was still fun. Very intense. Anybody who has had some form of FIBUA will really appreciate it. You can go dynamic or stealth, have optical mirrors, helmet cams, flashbangs and cs and even glowsticks to mark cleared rooms. You squad is actually intelligent. I had blue team cover while red team banged and cleared a room. They checked all doors, closets, around couches, everything! They even cuff people on their own. The only thing about it is its a cop game. More emphasis on taking people alive, so you have to yell for compliance at every suspect and civie and report and evac all cuffed and dead people, all of them !!! Helps with all the drama but since the funds are low I still rather buy OFP then SWAT3 since I am a grunt and not a cop. Still very tactical thinking is involved. Worth checking out, its a bit old but pretty cheap

I tryed Ghost Recon and I quite enjoyed it.

OP Flashpoint is also good too.

Hey Enfield, did you ever try the Canadian Mod for Rogue Spear and Urban Ops? I made that one! Unfortuneatly, I was in cadets (Pte.) at the time and did not have as much of a thorough knowledge.

Canadian mod? Never herad of it - I just use the BSW and NATO mods. Love‘em, lots of fun (C7 is actually pretty good). Need some new maps tho.

Where could I find the Cdn mod now?

a great addictive game to get is Global Operations.
like any new shelf game theres a bug or 2 in the single and multiplayer parts, but those can be overlooked by how amazingly fun this game is. :cdn:
and a mission has u playing as JTF-2 in quebec.

That is where you can get the Canadian Mod.
It is old and would be better if I didn‘t stop playing RS and UO. Right now I am concentrating on a Vietnam War mod for Half-Life called Tour of Duty (www.tourofdutymod.com).
