A House committee is investigate deaths at Ft Hood. Leading the Army investigation is CG of Futures Command. This is a job for Army CID and the MP's. A group like MS13 may be operating on base. Once a gang member is arrested then get one to roll over on the others. The Army still has the death penalty so that can be strong insentive to cooperate.

Or an AR 15-6 for the non-criminal issues in general of which several are already underway including Army Futures Command boss Gen. John Murray who is leading an in-depth investigation into the actions taken by the post’s chain of command following the disappearance of Spc. Vanessa Guillen. In addition an independent review of the base's command climate has been ordered by the Army Secretary which will be headed up by Army Under Secretary James McPherson.

Maybe the House committees could wait until those are complete - but then it would look like they weren't doing anything.  :sarcasm:

:worms:

The House committee could request what steps the Army is taking to investigate the issues, decide the army is doing what it can and vote to postpone further action till the army has a report to give. That means they can get on with the investigations, but will still have to answer for what they decide to do.

Where did you get the bit about MS13?  That isn't in any of the stories, and doesn't make sense when you read about the individual deaths. For example, one of them commited suicide after reporting a sexual assault with SFA happening. Another was murdered by another soldier (who then killed themselves). That bit isn't even on the Fox News story.

The base has an unusually high crime rate compared to other bases, but sounds more like a bunch of crappy people being crappy at their jobs then a brutal organized gang doing something. That would just be incredibly stupid to pick a fight with the US Army, when they can buy the same hardware or better down at the local gun shows.

I said "a group " like MS13" but as you said it could be a bunch of bad individuals.

Okay, but massive difference between a collection of numpties abusing their power and an especially brutal street gang infiltrating the army. Even the normal political crazies haven't gone there, as most of the cases are unrelated, so at most it's a potential case of unit discipline circling the drain.

Organized criminal elements have been prevalent in the US military for many years. Not rampant,  but they're still around.
