Anyone here besides me have pieces of trench art from the First World War?
My parents have collected it over the years.
Anyone know of books on it or websites?

Have ashtrays, butter like knives and match box holder.

Tim Cook describes various bits of trench art, trench newspapers and even theatre productions (and similar) in his 2018 book The Secret History of Soldiers: How Canadians Survived the Great War. That might be a starting point for you.

FHG,

I am actually working on very short and reproduction for an art history class. When I get home I can send you my bibliography. There are a bunch of academic papers that you would need a library account to access but some are open. I'm not doing a repro of any single piece, but rather three or four different techniques on a 40mm (Bofors) cart case. I'll be engraving, punching, and probably petaling the mouth. Might also solder a cap badge on. I (hopefully) annealed it yesterday on the BBQ, might have to throw it in a fire, it only got to around 550 F.

Let me know if you want sources.
