You won't find the words creativity or intuition in the book either but, without it you are leaving yourself very limited for options.
Any of our books are good references for basic and refresher type training, but the book could not contain all the details necessary to cover every possibility. Otherwise, it wouldn't fit in your truck or on a flash drive.
That said. All books are under revision and should be out in time for about the year 2020. Right around the time when they will be due to be rewritten again.
I believe the purpose of this thread is to bring up more subjective ideas rather than what the book might or might not say.
During a Regt Fire Plan a BC gives his adjustment O's. Within his adjustment O's he has ordered some Tgts as record for gun data and some as record for coords.
What does that imply for the FOO involved?
What does that imply for the CP? and;
What does that imply for 0?
The FOO will adjust targets iaw the direction provided to him by the bc. If he is to adjust for coordinates he will order fire mission three guns, specify that converge will be used in his distribution of fire and record the target athe the short bracket much like the registration procedure. If he is to adjust for gun data he will order at a minimum fire mission 3 guns and will go through the bracket procedure and record the target when he has adjusted the mpi and have rounds in the target. If in the regimental context and he wants to see check rounds for the same target he will open up in 1 rd ffe and check the mpi. If no correction is needed he will end the mission.
The cp will adjust targets iaw with the fire orders given from the ops. The cp will produce and engagement report at the start of the fire mission followed by an availability report at the conclusion of the mission. If the bty is the senior bty they will circulate the target records with their altitude being applied.
The rcpo/0 will control the fire for the regiment and ensure that all target records are circulated on ring net, track the fire plan etc....
Not really a fire d question. The only thing that is challenging is differentiating between what adjusting for coordinates and gun data is.
