Does anyone have a reference that explains all the different organizations of our sections since World War 1?  I found this link                                      ( http://www.bayonetstrength.150m.com/Commonwealth/Canadian/canadian_infantry_and_motor_battalion.htm ) which goes over the organizations of numerous countries during WW 2 including Canada and I found this discussion which is great ( http://army.ca/forums/threads/20878.0.html ) but I'd like something more official than websites if it exists.

Thanks Michael, I was afraid you might say that.  I'm already in the process of re-reading your article.

Thanks. I just finished re reading On Infantry as well.  Unfortunately it has no specifics on Canadian rifle sections post WW 2. At least the not the new edition that I have.

Hal,

I've done research at DHH and LAC on Canadian Army war establishments from the pre-Second World War era up to about 1975.  Included in this are details on the infantry battalion and it's sub-units.  I've copied a lot of the documents that I've found and think that I can help you with your query.  Send me a pm or ask me on the forum.  Remember the more specific the question the better will be the answer.

Cheers,
Dan.
