It seems Juno Beach is being eyed for development, and the Juno Beach Centre is concerned for its future:

Resurrecting this thread, the Juno Beach Centre is asking that we email the PM on this anniversary of D-Day. The link provide a canned email message to the PM and other assorted officials.

Sorry I can’t get excited about this. Did Canadian soldiers land on Juno to set up a permanent memorial to their landing, or to liberate France so the French can determine what to do with their lands?

If you go to the Juno Beach centre's site you can read their actual position on the construction. Basically they are objecting to not being consulted, and the developer using their private road with heavy equipment that will damage it. They don't mind the condos, just that the development plan will cut off access to the Centre and cause damage to their privately funded infrastructure.
