Coldstream Guards

Most of us here have heard of this famous British regiment. There‘s just one thing I‘m wondering about them...and that‘s what the heck is a Coldstream?

I do not believe it - a Canadian asking what is a cold stream!!!!!!!!

Coldstream is a village and burgh in Scotland on the English border, the river Tweed, here in 1659 Monk‘s Regiment of Foot acquired the name.

It is not like they teach history properly in Canada....especially in Quebec. Nobody I knew had the answer as to what Coldstream meant.
