Hi all,

I was med released last May and finally got my CD1 bar. It’s sewn to a display ribbon….how do I get it on my actual medal? My CD is mounted on a plastic backing, so I don’t see how I could sew it on. This may be a dumb question, but do people glue it on? Seriously, I have no idea…

I'd try going to a Canex to get it mounted, or try somewhere like Shop | Martel's Medal Mounting Inc

Honestly, I used two sided tape around 10 years ago and it's still going strong.

I used to mount medals as a favour for friends. When I ran into hard backing, I would position the bar, used the holes as a template and used a dremel tool and small drill to drill the holes through the backing. Then used gold thread to sew them on.

So it can be done without remounting the entire rack?

Yes, I just mounted another bar to mine. A number of reasonable methods have been articulated above.
