Because of quarantine requirements the Canadians will not be able to spend time with families.

Well.... we could certainly spend time in Canada. We just need to quarantine for 14 days (or less if using the AB pilot project). So, you make the most use of Christmas/New Years leave combined with Short, Annual and Weekend you *could* expend eight annual and get a full week in Canada - worst case (i.e. 14 full days of isolation). Given that we havent been able to use any leave - in many cases - some might even be able to use even more leave. *This doesnt apply universally as folks on the Mission Assurance teams will certainly be unable to use that much leave in one shot*

In almost all cases you can also isolate with family, if they are willing soooooo.....

It is also completely feasible to fly family to the States (if they are willing to isolate on return to Canada), of course

EDIT: Spelling

Do you have to quaranteen if you flew from a US base to a Canadian airbase ?

Yes, unless there's an operational reason to have that waived.

A couple of our folks are going home to Canada from Bahrain. The quarantine has been reduced to 10 days when they return. And yes they'll be doing 14 days quarantine in Canada.
