Police say they have found nothing suspicious about the death of a Canadian soldier while training in New Brunswick.

The Canadian Armed Forces issued a statement saying the soldier collapsed while taking part in physical training outside 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

RCMP Const. Jullie Rogers-Marsh says the incident occurred at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in Hazen Park in Oromocto.

She says the 33-year-old soldier from Oromocto was taking part in a group run and collapsed.

The file in now in the hands of the coroner.

The soldier’s name has not been released.

However, the military says he was a member of the 5th Canadian Division Support Group Signal Squadron.
