The economics of this suggestion do not give value when viewed against marketing a theme.....The CFRC's are an entity unto themselves, much liken to a church....you can pray anywhere, but where do most go for the ambiance and theme?
If you have a Military detachment within the manpower centre - you can step into the chappel for the service... the civilian clerical staff can handle the paperwork just as easily.
This may be a moot point but would " equal pay for equal work" come into play here. Having no clue as to the pay regime for Federal employees at Canada Manpower, for argument sake. Would not a Canada Manpower employee want the same pay as an CF personnel doing the same job, if the Canada Manpower employee is making less.
The difference here is that they may be doing the same work today. But tomorrow, the guy in uniform can be issued a helmet and a rifle and ordered to stand somewhere, the civilian can't. I always figured that if the equal pay for equal work scheme was ever enacted, we in uniform would do quite well.
