Aussie Army Captain sentenced to 10 years for stealing ten rocket launchers

An army captain was sentenced to ten years in jail for stealing ten rocket launchers, five of which were sold to a criminal then passed on to an alleged terrorist cell; only one of the stolen RPGs has since been recovered.  The officer claimed that the ten launchers were part of a consignment he had been ordered to destroy, but he forgot that the weapons were in his vehicle.  No further details, including those on the alleged terrorist cell, were provided.

Well I do recall a certain Corporal forgetting about her C7 in the trunk of her car after a 2 X 10 in Pet circa '91 ... she showed up to the QM to turn it in after lunch; she hasn't been seen since.

Ten years for 10 rockt launchers sold off to a terrorist cell -- seems pretty light to me.   :-\

He forgot the weapons in his vehicle and then sold them???? Please how naive does he think people are.... :  IMO he got off lightly with only ten years.....

RPGs? We only have captured ones  ;D It should be noted that these were live M72 A6 66mm HEAT, fully ready to go, and NOT empty tubes as you see in surplus stores, gun shows, etc, like back in Canada.

The sentance is a mininum of 10 yrs, so he is in there for a while.

What a zero this bloke is, he ruined not only a career as an Officer, but his life. For what, a few extra bucks. What a waste of skin!
