Unfortunately, I can only find an article in French, but Denis Demers, who was the person involved in the standoff was found dead on 12 Sept: Le Caporal-chef Denis Demers de la 2e Ambulance de campagne, retrouvé mort à Petawawa

Rough translation (not mine):

Master Corporal Denis Demers, 44 years old who had been missing was found yesterday. The circumstances around his death remain unknown but, from the outset, police have ruled out a criminal act.

He is the same man who had been involved in last months standoff, when he had had been hold up in his house surrounded by the OPP for about 40 hours near the base of Petawawa, 160 km northwest of Ottawa, he was barricaded and surrounded by armed police while inside his home on Thursday, August 28 shortly before midnight, after a visit from the military police. He finally surrendered peacefully to the police Saturday, August 31, and had regained his freedom since that time.

He had been missing for several days, when he was found dead September 12 at 6 pm at Petawawa outside his home by the Ontario provincial police, which stated that everything leads them to believe that it is not a homicide, although they won't know the exact cause of death to the end of the coroner's inquest that has already started.

Denis Demers belonged to 2 Field Ambulance, is based at Petawawa, headquarters of the 2nd Canadian mechanized brigade group. He enrolled in 2002 and had been deployed twice in Afghanistan, the first time in 2008 and the second in 2010

Remember that there are many services both the military side that the civilian side allows to be "called" for persons in difficulties, such as the 1 866 277 - 3553 of the Centre for suicide prevention in Quebec, the various programs of the mental health Service of the Armed Forces, the branch of your Royal Legion Canadian or well again, talking to someone you trust is always good!
