Four US Marines killed in TN.

News is breaking.

The one thing you have not heard is the name of the killer.

It is Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez.  The media hates to report this.

- mod edit of thread title to make it more specific & reflect death toll -

Doing a google search results in no Mainstream media coverage. All smaller media outlets.

RIP to the 4 Marines.

Sorry about my above post.  But you just get the feeling every time that the Media and Gov types just want it to be a "white male right wringer" shooter. or that we can't think for ourselves what the motivation of the shooter is when they release the name. I'll give everyone ONE guess.

You might get that feeling. I don't.

Let's allow folks to think for themselves, a novel idea, and keep that sort of speculation to a minimum.

Pardon me? I don't give a shit if these marines were killed by the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Four dead marines is definitely "something to see".

Too fast for me, I was going to bin it.

Yeah, there's plenty of room for discussion. Let's just keep it respectful.

Condolences  :salute:

Some of the latest:
Four Marines were killed on Thursday by a gunman who opened fire at two military offices in Chattanooga, Tennessee, before being fatally shot in an attack officials called a brazen, brutal act of domestic terrorism.

The FBI named the suspect as Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, 24, but said it was too early to speculate on a motive for the rampage, which comes at a time when U.S. military and law enforcement authorities are increasingly concerned about the threat posed by "lone wolves" to domestic targets.

"We are treating this as an act of domestic terrorism," Bill Killian, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, said earlier, adding that no official determination of the nature of the crime had yet been made and the Federal Bureau of Investigation has not ruled anything out.

"While it would be premature to speculate on the motives of the shooter at this time, we will conduct a thorough investigation of this tragedy and provide updates as they are available," the agency said in a statement.

NBC reported that Abdulazeez was a naturalized American born in Kuwait and U.S. officials said law enforcement authorities were investigating whether he was inspired by Islamic State or a similar militant group.

According to a resume believed to have been posted online by Abdulazeez, he attended high school in a Chattanooga suburb and graduated from the University of Tennessee with an engineering degree ....

My comment was extreme SARCASM.

I was criticizing the fact that it hadn't made many waves in media at the time I posted. My opinion is in fact, the opposite, that indeed there is something to see here.

This from Canada's Minister of National Defence:
The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of National Defence, has issued this  statement following the death of four U.S. Marines in Chattanooga, Tennessee in an act of possible domestic terrorism:

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the United States Navy and Marine Corps, and all those who are affected by today’s shooting at the Navy Operational Support Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This attack calls to mind the murders of two Canadian soldiers on our soil last October, following which our American friends expressed profound solidarity with Canada.

“We condemn today’s despicable attack and mourn the loss of four U.S. marines who served their country with pride and honour.”

Sad, RIP. What is criminal is that knowing the potential level of the threats that is out there, is that the DOD will not allow them to be armed and will not work with the local authorities to allow it to happen.

interesting side note.

Just watched a local news report showing that the Marine victims were driven under police escort from Chattanooga to the local municipal airport here in Manassas today. They were transferred to 2 Blackhawks to be flown on to Dover AFB in Delaware for the transfer ceremony.

Not sure why they would drive almost 600 miles to fly them out when there would be many airports and military facilities which would be only a short trip away.
