Number of pilot admissions per year

I was picked up for ROTP Pilot Civy U, and my GPA after a couple years of University was 2.89. Not the highest of grades, however, I was in the Infantry Reserves, and had extra curriculars. If you would like to talk details, feel free to PM me. Point being, grades aren't everything!

is it turn around in the industry?

If you don't understand that then don't join the CF. I wouldn't trade going to work everyday with a Canadian flag on my shoulder for anything else in the world!

A question before I leave for IAP.

Not to beat anything to death here, the last 2 posts said it best. I have gone through Reserve BMQ and IAP. IAP is longer and different. Yes, much of the material is the same. Would it be in the CF's interest to have a modified IAP for NCMs with time in, say join in later? Perhaps yes. But it's...

    Which Cap Badge to wear?

Thank you all for the responses. The RMC rules do not apply to me no, I have been Civy U. I do know all the other pilots I know post BOTC have the Air Cap Badge. Therefore, as Zoomie (thank you for the reassurance), stated, I will make the trip down to the ASU to pick some up. Cheers all

    Which Cap Badge to wear?

Good point. Perhaps I should rephrase the question then. Am I likely entitled to one if I go ask? (Which, I will!) I am basically curious when everybody else who has gone AF ROTP has gotten theirs? Cheers

    Which Cap Badge to wear?

Afternoon all, I have a quick question, I am finishing my ROTP program this semester, and am being posted on OJT after that. My posting message stated 2Lt, me. (currently I am still an OCdt until I graduate obviously). I have been given a BOTC bypass due to previous Reserve service. So I have...

    BFT / Aircraft Choice

SF2, No doubt about that. I know the type, not from flight school obviously, but they exist across the CF. They drive me nuts. Good advice. Cheers.

    BFT / Aircraft Choice

Inch, That is perfect, exactly the information I was looking for. Thankyou very much.

    BFT / Aircraft Choice

Good day gents, Well, focusing on passing PFT and BFT, yes. I wasn't asking how to pass PFT. Or saying that I am not concerned with passing every step of the way. Definitely. Just as in every military course I've taken thus far, work hard, study hard, keep a good attitude, do what you're told...

    BFT / Aircraft Choice

Good day all, Did a search and couldn't find much on a recent note here. As far as recent BFT courses and aircraft category selection? How has it been going? Have most guys/girls gotten their preference? On that note, if anybody with information on what the instructors look for as far as what...

    IAP/BOTP Bypass

Good day all, Just an update. I did recieve the bypass. So I'm pretty happy. Also shows that I should never have been on IAP. Lesson learned, if you want something in the CF, ask. If it makes sense you just might get it, despite opinions you will hear. OCdt Allan

    IAP/BOTP Bypass

Good evening all, Well thankyou for the replies. I have completed IAP. I began IAP 57 days after I completed CAP. Essentially there is Basic Training, whatever form it is received in. Redeye summed it up very well. Right now, your 'Basic Officer Training', however it is rreceived is a...

    IAP/BOTP Bypass

Quag, I see you are "3 Years Reg ROTP CIVIU". If I'm not mistaken that means you did your IAP before your first year, BOTP and SLT after your first year, CAP after your second year, and have done or are to do Phase III Troop Leader after your third year? What if I told you, I, as a reservist...

    IAP/BOTP Bypass

Good day all, I would like to know why we are wasting time on sending Reg F OCdts with previous experience, through IAP. I myself have been through BMQ(R), BOTP(R) and a Reg F CAP this past spring. (Serial 0601). I then CT'd to the Regs. I was demoted from 2LT to OCdt and was sent on IAP. It...

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

How does leave work with 'Civy U' ROTP? Am I still entitled to the standard 4 weeks per year? For example after my course this summer, in between the time from course until school, I will have 2 weeks time. How will this work? Will I be let free or will I need to take 1-2 weeks of annual leave...

more questions on how does it work

This is copied off of the Recruiting website for Pilot. ********************************** Serving as a Pilot in the Canadian Forces is a demanding and rewarding career. The Canadian Forces operate a range of aircraft in a variety of roles. Search and Rescue Pilots will fly demanding...

Role of Officer vs job of NCM [Merged]

I can help you out a little bit. A buddy of mine was a MCpl and was commissioned to 2LT. He had to do DP1 (Phase 3 Inf), but had a BOTC/CAP bypass. However friends of his with the exact same qualifications were told to go to St-Jean. I guess it just depends who is looking at your file. There...

    Letter From Ottawa?

Well, even if it is bad news, not to worry. I was initially rejected due to more information needed. I appealed it and was accepted. Basically I had a rash when I was twelve and something in my back clicked, with very minor scoliosis. So they said due to these two things I did not cut the common...

    Air Navigators

Honestly there really isn't too much you can do to practice, even for the Air Nav, there has been some threads on here that say practice highschool math. Dont worry about your complex highschool math, just your basic math skills. And as long as you've reviewed over those then that's all you can...
