Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

To be fair, I'm away from home atm on exercise - but as I do have some access to DWAN I would've expected to see it before now. My fault for not staying current in the army.ca forums. P.S. 211RadOp pm sent & reply ack.

Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

Just catching up on this thread now, and I'm seeing references to a letter. Although I check my email daily, i haven't seen anything, despite the references to the letter being almost a month old now. Background (gripe):  I'm  ACISS Core at the moment - I CTd over from Clerk but because I...

Announcing the Battle Procedure Aide Memoire for iPhone/iPad

I just headed to the iTunes store for this app and it claims it requires a minimum iOS of 6.0 in order to run (version 2.5).  Is that accurate?  I'm keeping my iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.x on purpose, but I'd still like this app.  Is there a way to download former versions of the app or is there one...

All things Joint Sigs Regt/JSR (merged)

Now at JSR, and at the moment, doing the DL portion of my DP 2.0 . Talk about Death by PowerPoint...!

All things Joint Sigs Regt/JSR (merged)

Another update.  Just received my posting instruction last week and sure enough, JSR.  Also I found clarification on my recruiting situation: apparently, the amalgamation "officially" went through just before my component transfer was finalized, therefore I guess I'm officially considered ACISS...

All things Joint Sigs Regt/JSR (merged)

Just wanted to cast out my line here... I'm currently on my DP 1.0 at CFSCE and have requested (and I'm hoping for) CFJSR as a posting.  10 years ago (my God! that long?!) I worked at JSR as a Clerk... this time I'll be wearing the Jimmy cap badge.  I'm decent at computers and electronics and...

Army Communication & Information Systems Specialists (Sig Op, Lineman and LCIS Amalgamation)

Yeppers, I can see that one coming.  I'm currently just at the beginning of my DP 1.0 here at CFSCE, and several times the topic of ACISS Core versus sub-occs has come up.  The most recent conversation ended with the admission that basically what the DP 1.0 turns out is a very, very basic Sig Op...

Help with learning about Electronic Communication Systems

I followed your link, but the Harris site apparently has been redesigned and the pdfs are no longer available.  (I did poke around the Harris sites somewhat, but didn't find any publications at all other than specific radio manuals) Is there another link to the pdfs?  I'm really interested to...

To members in the Lincoln and Welland Regiment infantry regiment

Psst.... I'm not a member of that Regiment, but as a Reserve clerk of 15 years' experience, I can inform you that the 80km limit has been removed for some time now...... individual units may still choose to place their own limits on number of days of parading, or max distance from the armories, etc.

From pay sheet to pay check- developing a reserve pay primer for my troops

Awesome revision Brihard.  I love how you were able to distill my two pages of detailed blather into about a paragraph of concise "need to know."  And thanks for mentioning the "SOU =/= Contract" thing; it's difficult to get the word out against years of clerks' referring to all Class B's as...

From pay sheet to pay check- developing a reserve pay primer for my troops

Ahem..... 12 days.  Reference CMP 20/04 etc etc.  On the 13th consecutive day, the whole period MUST be converted over into Class B.  (I've seen it happen)

Surprise! Another example of pay being mis-handled.

This is the reason that is is VITAL for members returning from tour to fully complete their AAG (Arrival Assistance Group) process.  Think of it as clearing back into your domestic unit and off tour.  It's not JUST about making sure you arrived with all your marbles and without any foreign...

Surprise! Another example of pay being mis-handled.

Actually, I can answer to this for you.  I was the deployment support clerk for OP ATHENA back in the day, and occasionally had to do these calculations for Reservists. If you were promoted WSE (While So Employed), that is, only while you were doing the job you were doing in theatre, then yes...

From pay sheet to pay check- developing a reserve pay primer for my troops

A little feedback on the document: Section 6. entitled "Class B" and "Contracts".  You indicate that the member will sign a "contract" (yadda yadda) and that it is sometimes known as a "route letter" - I think you should correct that.  Although the Class B financial document itself is called a...

From pay sheet to pay check- developing a reserve pay primer for my troops

Just thought I'd mention something from my depth of experience with regards to claims (TD etc): 1. If you have an AMEX ITC, you are not entitled to advances off TD claims.  The AMEX is intended to provide that "pay now claim later" buffer.  While I understand and appreciate difficulties in...

From pay sheet to pay check- developing a reserve pay primer for my troops

Thought I'd chime in here - I was directed to this thread by a friend. I have 15+ years in the Forces as an RMS Clerk - although I'm Reserve, most of that 15 years is on contract of some sort, both Class B and C.  I've worked extensively with BOTH RPSR and CCPS (as well as Claims-X etc) I just...
