New Halo 3: ODST trailer (very fun!)

I personally think it looks excellent. Should be more challenging than Halo 3, because you don't get SPARTAN II armor, just regular special forces armor (which can take, what, 1/3 the hits? :P)

New Halo 3: ODST trailer (very fun!)

Being a gamer, I saw this trailer and pretty much sat there for 30 seconds after in shock. Then I said "AWESOME!" and wondered why the heck they can't make a Halo movie like this XD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKkLykw33cI (and yes, I am buying it when it releases... I have it preordered...

    Application Process Samples [2003 - 2018]

The phone rang today. OCdt MacLean was on the other end! The news: "Hello (insert name here), your CNRC has cleared, would you be able to come in monday for an interview and medical?" My reply was probably the most enthusiastic "YES!" I have ever given. Recruiting Center: Calgary...

    Application Process Samples [2003 - 2018]

Just an update on to assuage those, like me, waiting for months to get news back about things... I'm STILL waiting for the CNRC to come back from Ottawa... it was sent off in the middle of May  :crybaby: I'm just so damned excited and want to get the show on the road! And I know the navy needs...

    Changing my application?

I originally put my application in as a regular force MARS officer. After a lot of talking with the PO2 at the CFRC, and talking with a MARS officer friend of mine that just finished phase 4, I changed my application to NESOp, NCIOp, NavComm in order of preference. And how did I do it? I went...

Enhanced Reliability Check (ERC) - Merged

From my discussion with the interviewer when I did my Interview part 1, Credit, references, past employment, etc is all done by a company called BackCheck. Your actual criminal/security check is done via the RCMP. As the RCMP does lots of other security checks OTHER than CF, while BackCheck is...

    New Game - Military Quotes

"In the absence of orders, go find something and kill it." Erwin Rommel. "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat....You ask, what is our policy? I say it is to wage war by land, sea, and air. War with all our might and with all the strength God has given us, and to wage war...

Sound off: What are you doing right now? Aside from the obvious being on here..

I'mm..... sipping tea (sip) and watching the documentary "Ears, Open. Eyeballs, Click" on my computer. Just taking a break to check Navy.ca and see what's what in the world (BBC World News = best  ;D ). Planning for an afternoon slog around Nose Hill park on my new bike to see how it'll handle...

    Living on ships...

GCClarke: Another one of my absurd questions, but is any kind of internet provided for the enlisted during downtime? I ask only because I have seen it on US ships (can also be seen in many episodes of the documentary "Carrier"), and one of my primary forms of keeping in contact with friends is...

    September 2009 BMQ

I did a search and didn't see any September BMQ threads (although there is a September BMOQ thread  :blotto: ) At my interview part 1 yesterday, the recruiter pretty much up and told me that July is full and August will be filled before my file completes processing, so told me that I'd be going...

    Application Process Samples [2003 - 2018]

UPDATE! Did my CFAT this morning and a partial interview (because my report from the RCMP hasn't reached CFRC Calgary yet) today. Took the CFAT and pretty much blew it out of the water, scored in the 97th percentile :D So happy :D I'm told that this high of a score is a rarity, so I'm pretty...

Tips to make your application process that much easier...

I realize each file is different, but I am compelled to ask: I applied April 14, and changed MOC choices April 20 (From MARS (officer) to NESOp (NCM)). I submitted all documents and had them confirmed by the CFRC. I called them a week later and was told I needed to submit fingerprints, which I...

What's the dumbest thing you heard said today?

Well, technically this was yesterday...but I haven't been to sleep yet, so it's still "today"  :blotto: Anyways... I'm picking up salad making veggies and cheeses (tomato and cottage cheese salad = yum!) at Safeway, and waiting in line at the self service tills because the line ups are usually...

Fitness for Operational Requirements of CAF Employment ( FORCE )

From my understanding, talking to the guys at CFRC Calgary, the chinups are not used for official testing because everyone is a different weight and build, but they are suggested ("strongly suggested" as the recruiter said) to help you prepare for the confidence course in training. Monkey bars...

    Living on ships...

That clears things up a lot Occam  :salute: I'm used to having 5-6 hours of sleep a night anyways, so it's not that big of a shift. And I would know it was light out from the afternoon PT :D Because I really don't think they'd let ya jog the flight deck in the middle of the night.
