Hey everyone, quick question... I received my course message for SQ, or BMQ-L, and recieved 2 different kit lists. Neither of these lists mention DEU, which I thought was a must for every course. I don't want to bring them if I don't have to, scuffing the boots and all, but I don't want to be...

There are also other explosive courses, such as IEDD. These are the guys in the suits defusing the IEDs. I could be wrong, but I beleve this course is limited to the Engineers

Any checks from employers would be considered "soft checks", which usually don't show on reports. If they do show, they still have no effect on your credit.

If the References are the last part of your background check, you should be merit listed shortly(ish)! Unless they did it backwards, then you still need to wait for the security checks. Yes it's different for everybody.. My reference was called one morning and I received 'the call' the same day...

You should receive another email, "Employment Offer Part 2" or similar. If you don't get it in the next couple of hours, I would call just to make sure they got your email! Where are you applying out of?

In some(most?) cases I think they will expect you to purchase your tickets and make all travel arrangements. I originally said I was bussing and they said ok see you there... On swear in day all they told our group is that there would be someone waiting at the Montreal airport to send you into...

Well hopefully I'll find SOMEONE on here who is selected for next week! I swear in tomorrow morning and will be driving out of Ottawa on Saturday ;D
