My 2 cents, if you are purchasing a ruck to prep you for military rucking, I'd personally just work on my cardio. Rucking with FFO and your rifle is different than civi hiking. They will build you up slowly to 13 km, so don't really worry about it!

17 is for Reg force with parental consent. You can join the reserves at the age of 16 with parental consent but must be enrolled in a full-time school until the age of 17 I believe.

My Reserve BMQ starts tomorrow. I will also be in toronto (Fort York), see you then. A tip that my instructor told us, practice putting your boots and uniform on and off  fast prior to BMQ, hope that helps :)

I just finished writing mine for the reserves. It was real easy. I don't know if it is the same as the Reg Force but we were allowed to type it out and print it on normal white paper.
