I'm 40 and going for the reserves. Don't let age stop you if that's what you want. I've had my cfat, medical and interview. I just have to get my doctor to sign off on some paperwork and do my physical testing. The interviewer had no problem with my age.

What are you trying to accomplish army08? Do you enjoy just seeing what you type or what? Make up your mind what your doing and quit whining.

I'm just waiting for my school transcripts before I put in my application, my wife and my kids are on board with me joining the reserves, and I know that it's not a mid life crisis thing. Is there anyone else out there who knows that they needed to join but just couldn't completly explain why?

With marks that high and a few more months to go, finish. I graduated grade 12 with what was called a general diploma in 1991 but things have come along to where I'd have been better off trying to get my advanced. You've go too much going for you to just do the minimums.

Ok thanks for the running advice. I knew that push ups and sit up (especially sit ups) I have to work on along with running basically getting in better shape than I am now which never hurts.

After almost a year of making sure I wanted it and discussing it with my wife and kids, I have decided to join the reserves. My app is almost filled out and  just have to send away for my high school transcripts.  Any suggestions about how to prepare while I wait for everything to come together?

What is the pay during basic training?

The biggest thing that I'm hoping is that even just through the basic training it will help me enough to help me in all other areas. I appreciate all of your responses and I put this on here because I want honest answers and not textbook answers. You don't know how tiring textbook answers get...
