Precision and Accuracy in the call for fire

Being a Forward Observer in a LAV OPV, I can honestly say that when the equipment is working correctly (all of the on-board systems), we can have a first round hit within 50m of the target, then re-calculating where that round just landed, we can have a FFE for a second round hit.  If we do a...

What I am looking for is zone time of flight tables, per tables and ped tables that might already be made us (as opposed to getting out the tft's and redoing it).

    Coyote Surv. Suite

I am not going to start anything here because this is getting right off topic, but look at why those systems crashed and you will see the problem associated with it. Most of the crashes were mechanical in nature not operator error. :salute:

Armoured Taking Over as a FOO-Discussion

recceguy - it is on paper somewhere, and you as armoured should be able to find it, but because of OP SEC, snowpuncher is not able to quote where the information has come from. I can verify this info as correct as can tech, that unless things change shortly on the TO&E, there will be no...

    Coyote Surv. Suite

The artillery right now is not getting a version of this nor do I believe it will be in the near future. For the time it takes to set-up and tear down, it is to time consuming for the task that we are to be used for. We may be getting mini UAV's but that would be about it. Thanks for the info.

    Training on Allied Guns

Thought it was an okay gun. When we did our exchange in the UK, we did allot of firing as we repaced 7 RHA who was tasked to the Artillery school at the time. We did all of their taskings for about 6 weeks and saw more firing there than I have done here in Canada for a long time. We fired for...

    Attack Helicopters

From an Arty Guy's point of view, the Attack Helo, although nice could not replace the 105mm cannon of the Stryker (or whatever we finally decide on). As stated the helo is not an all weather 24/7 piece that will be there when the combat team needs it. And as a forward observer, I know all to...

    Multiple First Round Impacts

In 2 RCHA we have started doing what is called simultaneous impact procedures. From the command post end, this is time consuming as they have to compute data for each round to land on the target at the same time as well as control the time of firing of each round(s).

    Quick Question About Artillery Courses

Currently 2 RCHA id looking at going to 3 OP Parties per battery. Two of those will be LAV equipped and the third will be the light/para/airmobile OP. As of now the BC of Fox battery wants all OP's in Fox to be qualified Para. As well the regiment gets a fair amount of openings for jump courses...
